Here is an idea for an activity of our presentation. As mentioned in the "Research Findings" page, I am doing a book study on The Mindset book. It talks about growth mindset and fixed mindset. A description is in the Research Findings page. I thought this would be a good activity for everyone to see what mindset they have as we enter educational leadership. Growth mindset is ideal for education, reform, and administrators.

5. It is very important to me that I do not look stupid to others.
6. If I do poorly on an assignment or task, it is because I did not try hard enough.
7. Natural ability is better than learned ability.
8. I will do well in life if I try hard enough.
9. If I succeed in my endeavors it is only because of luck.
10. An important reason why I further my education or learn new skills is because I want to better myself.
11. If I do poorly on a task or project, it is usually someone else's fault.
12. Effort is more important than natural ability.
13. Intelligence is something very basic about you and it cannot be changed very much.
14. No matter how much intelligence you have, you can always change it quite a bit.
15. You can learn new things, but you cannot really change how intelligent you are.
In the end, you add up all of the Trues you put down for the odd questions.
Then, you add up how many Trues you have for the even numbered questions.
If you have more Trues for the odd questions, you demonstrate a fixed mind set. If you answer more trues for the even questions, you demonstrate a growth mindset.
